What It Really Means to Be a Homeschool CEO

You’re Not Alone If You’ve Ever Thought…

“Do I even fit in as a homeschool mom?”
“Am I doing this the right way?”
“Can I really run a business and homeschool my kids?”

If you’ve asked yourself those questions—you’re in the right place.

For years, I tried to fit into the typical homeschool groups. But honestly? I didn’t feel at home. While other moms were chatting about crafts and curriculum, I wanted to talk strategy, growth, and systems. I didn’t love the idea of spending hours on Pinterest projects—I wanted to spend that time building something big.

That’s when I realized something powerful: I wasn’t just a homeschooling mom.
I was a Homeschool CEO.

So, What Is a Homeschool CEO, Exactly?

First, let’s clear something up.
You don’t need to be making six or seven figures to be a Homeschool CEO.
You don’t need a big team.
You don’t even need to feel like you have it all figured out.

A Homeschool CEO isn’t defined by revenue.
It’s defined by mindset.

Homeschool CEOs lead their lives, businesses, and homeschools with intention. We don’t wait until everything is perfect—we take action. We focus on long-term vision. And we know how to make bold decisions when needed.

And yes, we can prioritize our business and still love our kids deeply. We don’t have to pick one over the other.

The Moment It Clicked

Back in 2019, I was running a successful Facebook ads business. My clients were hitting five- and six-figure launches, and I was working with people I loved. But I still felt like something was missing.

One day, while binge-listening to the Mind Your Business Podcast by James Wedmore, everything clicked. He talked about being a Digital CEO—someone who leads with strategy, not just hustle. And it hit me:

I wasn’t just a business owner. I was a CEO.

From there, everything changed.

Why Homeschool CEOs Are Different

I used to think something was wrong with me because I didn’t relate to the traditional homeschool approach. Turns out—I just think differently.

Homeschool CEOs aren’t just looking to make a little extra money.
We’re building businesses with big goals.
We’re teaching our kids real-life skills.
We’re leading with confidence—even when we’re figuring it out as we go.

That’s the big difference. It’s not about your homeschool method or business niche. It’s about how you see the world.
It’s about leading, not just surviving.

The CEO vs. Employee Mindset

One of the biggest mindset shifts for me was moving from an employee mindset to a CEO mindset.
Here’s what that looked like:

Employee MindsetCEO Mindset
I need to do everything myselfI delegate and build systems
I have to wait until I’m readyI take action and learn through doing
My worth is tied to time spentMy value comes from results and leadership
Busy equals successfulImpact and focus equal growth

Which one sounds more like you right now?
No shame—just awareness.

So… Are You a Homeschool CEO?

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yes! This is me!”
Then welcome home. You’ve found your people.

You don’t have to feel torn between business and homeschooling anymore. You don’t have to settle for running on autopilot. You get to lead your family and your business—your way.

And if you’re still figuring it out? That’s okay too.
The first step is simply recognizing that there is another way—and it starts with how you think.

Let’s Redefine What Success Looks Like

Being a Homeschool CEO isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters.
It’s letting go of guilt, busywork, and outdated expectations.
It’s building a life where your family thrives, your business grows, and your values lead the way.

You don’t have to pick one lane—you get to be both.

A powerful business owner.
A dedicated homeschooler.
A CEO.
